This very gentle class is modified for the special needs of people for whom moving between the floor and standing is challenging. It is ideal for expectant moms, those recovering from injury, surgery, or illness, and those with chronic problems like arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc.
While many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation techniques can performed, in modified ways, from a chair, this class remains true to the authentic spirit of Bloom yoga classes!
A portion of the class takes place seated, and a portion takes place standing behind the chair, using it for support. No part of the class takes place on the floor.
Chair yoga is for everyone--no matter your age nor the issues you are facing, you can experience the health benefits of yoga!
After the birth of your precious baby, you may resume your practice in the gentle yoga class as soon as your doctor or midwife says it's ok. As your body returns to its pre-pregnancy state, you may wish to move into the mixed-level class(es).
